New Drift2 H-Sphere 3.3 update

As always we are on top of the newest releases of software and we keep up to date on the newest stable update release. We didn’t expect any problems except for some downtime for the control panel. Unfortunately we had an issue with something in Apache2 that would not let apache restart after the update. Which ended up taking one of the web server’s offline for a while? This so happened to be the same server that our site was on taking our site down too. We worked on the server and got the server back online, however since this was an issues with Apache2 we had to downgrade to Apache 1.3 until we have a permanent fix for the problem. We do not expect any more problems with this servers in the mean time. Some of the added features that came out of H-Sphere 3.3 Management of Virtuozzo clusters through Parallels H-Sphere. Parallels Sitebuilder integration. Added experimental support of PHP accelerators (APC, eAccelerator, XCache), and encoding support (ionCube Loader, Zend Optimizer). After weeks of analyzing the company, we came to the conclusion that it would be an easier and more cost effective way to combine the companies under the Drift2 Branding. The advantages of a css website is that it makes it easy for us to change our site and update are site. Another great advantage is the site loads faster due to less lines of code giving faster download times. The Disadvantages is that the site might not look good in older browsers. We only tested it in Safari, Firefox and IE8 and forget to test in IE7 which we found some display problems which we are working on fixing now. Acquisition - On March 5th 2009 Drift2 Web Services acquired the web hosting company Utaria.net a Baltimore based company that’s been in business since 2003.
